Along with the image(s), relevant data is also displayed such as the capture date, transaction sequence,
account number and amounts.
Maintenance / Retention
Purging old images from its system is completely configurable. The parameters for how
long to store the images are adjustable by the user. Images can be retained on a
CD-ROM or DVD as backup for disaster recovery.
By designing the interface around the Internet, access to the archive for most users is
more than likely already in place on the system. This dramatically reduces the hardware
and software cost of bringing users on-line. Training is also streamlined since many
potential users are already using browsers that can access the archive.
Protection against early obsolescence is also a benefit of this approach, since the
browsers are continually updated.
